What is the TCF IRN exam?
The TCF IRN (Test de Connaissance du Français - Intégration, Résidence et Nationalité) is a French language test for residence and nationality applications. France Éducation International administers it.
Review the published TCF IRN format and rehearse a supported oral-expression task with AI. Feedback, when available, applies only to that activity; it does not assess CEFR ability or reproduce the whole exam.
TCF IRN measures your French for integration and nationality across four skills. In the oral section, you are assessed on task completion, clarity, interaction and the ability to express an opinion. Since 1 January 2026, the language requirement for a naturalisation application is B2; other residence routes use different levels.
Our AI rehearses a supported TCF IRN speaking task from the current exam registry. Feedback focuses on preparation areas: extending answers, linking ideas, and maintaining clear pronunciation and basic accuracy.
Practise one supported TCF IRN oral-expression task. This is not the official three-exercise oral section.
Familiarize yourself with the structure of all four TCF IRN components and the timing of each section.
Listen to French radio, podcasts, and watch French TV to improve your comprehension of different accents and speech speeds.
Focus on words and phrases related to civic life, French values, administrative procedures, and daily life in France.
Use official sample materials to rehearse the complete test format. LearnLingo.ai currently provides only a supported oral-expression task for this exam.
Record yourself responding to sample questions and review your pronunciation, fluency, and vocabulary use.
Current format and product boundary
The TCF IRN (Test de Connaissance du Français - Intégration, Résidence et Nationalité) is a French language test for residence and nationality applications. France Éducation International administers it.
The current TCF IRN has four mandatory components: listening comprehension (25 questions, 20 minutes), reading comprehension (25 questions, 35 minutes), written expression (3 exercises, 30 minutes), and spoken expression (3 exercises, 10 minutes). It evaluates CEFR levels A1 to B2. Check the current official requirements for your application.
The current oral-expression section lasts 10 minutes and contains three face-to-face exercises. Use the current France Éducation International candidate manual for instructions; LearnLingo.ai provides one supported oral-expression practice task, not the complete three-exercise section.
Use current official samples for the complete format and practise all four language skills. LearnLingo.ai currently provides one supported oral-expression practice task with task-scoped preparation feedback when available.
The TCF IRN certificate is valid for 2 years from the test date. Confirm that the certificate and achieved level meet the current requirements when you submit your application.
